Job Summary
We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Certified Scrub Technologist. You will be responsible for maintaining responsibility for preparation of the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, making appropriate responses as needed. Is responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and principles related to those procedures. May serve as a Preceptor
Job Description
- Capable of scrubbings a variety of service lines including cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, robotics, ENT, GYN, Podiatry and Hand
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and principles related to those procedures.
- May serve as a Preceptor
- Provides sterile instruments and supplies during the surgical procedure.
- Performs surgical sponge, needle and instrument counts
- Creates and maintains a sterile and safe environment
- Prepares case tables with necessary equipment, sterile supplies, instruments and medications/solutions for each surgical case
- Assists in positioning patients for surgical procedures and maintains a protective position throughout the case
- Works proactively with physicians to submit preference card changes to align specialties
- Suggests instrument set changes to EMI and works with SPD identifying instrument sets that need to be worked on
- Actively engages in case costing by talking with surgeons regarding product usage, connects with EMIs to make cost savings suggestions, makes suggestions on how to eliminate waste on cases
- Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Eye/hand coordination required, especially when loading/cutting sutures and instrument handling.

Education/Training/Certifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent - Completion of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology. Not all schools involve an associate’s degree.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): American Red Cross or American Heart Associate - Required upon start
- Certified Scrub Tech (CST)
Additional Requirements
- SHIFT/HOURS: 9:00am -07:30pm
- Weekend rotation: Weekends
- On Call: On call weekday and weekend shifts
- Scrub Color: provided
Pay Rate/Salary
- $50.00 per hour
