Quality Engineering Manager
My client, who is an established global specialized OEM part manufacturer and a leader in their industry in supplying components for the aerospace, automotive and industrial industries, have a full-time direct hire permanent career position for a Quality Engineering Manager to join their team and grow with their Company. This position will begin as an individual contributor responsible for all quality functions and documentations on various programs, but will evolve as needed to support the requirements of the organization, including as many direct reports as will be needed to ensure success in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Quality system and team management.
- Coordinate transition of new production projects from engineering prototypes to pilot systems and then to full-scale production.
- Quality audit authoring and documentation process expertise.
- Ability to work with customers on quality issues, troubleshooting and providing resolutions and documentation.
- Must be a strong leader, mentor and coach.
- Export control of products and services.
- Proficient with utilization of all Lean Manufacturing processes such as Kaizen, VSM, 5S, KPI’s, SPC, and familiar with DMAIC methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Must have excellent communication (written and verbal) and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to work with progress and timeline of various projects.
- Any prior induction heating systems and components experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform root cause investigation of customer quality issues and develop & implement corrective action programs of the same.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selections and product testing.
- Must be familiar with APQP, QS, ISO, IATF, DFMEA, PFMEA AND PPAP processes, documentation and certification processes.
- Must be familiar with Quality Audit authoring for issue 8D’s or CAPA documentation authoring.
- Must be knowledgeable of current exportation control of products and services.
- Must be a U. S. citizen.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required with quality training and certification.
- Prefer a minimum of 10 years' experience in quality engineering of component processes, end products and quality team management.
Work Hours & Salary:
Hours: TBD- 7:30 a.m.-4:30p.m. M-F.
Salary: D.O.E.-Managerial level compensation for a small but growing niche industry company.
