Assembler I, Assembly - Skilled
Under general supervision, this role involves assembling components that may include sub-assemblies, manual components, and electrical components. The assembler will contribute to the completion of a variety of products while adhering to safety, quality, and quantity standards. Following directions and blueprints to meet product specifications is essential.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to blueprints and instructions.
- Adhere to safety standards and maintain quality and quantity of work.
- Meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends.
- Read and understand procedures, safety sheets, instructions, and policies in English.
- Communicate verbally in English and carry out verbal instructions.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ergonomics practices.
- Participate in workplace organization and training procedures, including cross-training and teamwork.
- Exhibit stamina for repetitive tasks and attention to detail.
- Identify and report safety and quality issues promptly.
- Learn new processes, systems, and equipment.
- Collaborate effectively in a diverse team environment and participate in cross-functional teams.
Essential Skills
- Ability to lift/carry 10-50 lbs frequently; occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, and crawling.
- Ability to reach, push, or pull as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Motivation to grow, learn, and progress to the next skill level.
- Willingness to cross-train and participate in team improvement.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location
This is a contract position based out of Portage, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
