Civil Engineer – Land Development
Overview
The Civil Engineer will serve as a lead professional responsible for managing land development projects from concept through completion. This role combines technical design, project management, and client interaction to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, scope development, and execution
- Oversee design, permitting, and construction phases
- Prepare and review construction plans and technical deliverables
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with municipal and regulatory requirements
- Serve as the primary client contact, managing communication and expectations
- Manage multiple projects, maintaining schedules and budgets
- Mentor junior staff and support team development

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 2–3+ years of land development experience
- Experience with site design, grading, drainage, and utilities
- Strong project coordination and leadership skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
Preferred
- EIT (FE passed) or PE license in Michigan
- Experience supervising or leading design staff
- Familiarity with SurvCAD or HEC-RAS
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Utica, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.00 - $62.50/hr.
