Part-Time Shuttle Bus Driver (Wheelchair Lift Experience Required)
Allegria Village – Dearborn, MI
Allegria Village, a vibrant senior living community in Dearborn, is seeking a Part-Time Shuttle Bus Driver to join our transportation team. This role is ideal for a safety-focused, service-oriented driver with experience assisting passengers with mobility needs, including wheelchair lift operation.
Schedule:
- Part-time hours
- Must be available to work Saturdays
- Flexibility to work additional hours, up to full-time, based on community needs
Important: This is a passenger transportation role serving seniors. It is not a delivery, rideshare, or freight driving position .
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to medical appointments, shopping trips, and community outings
- Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including safe operation of a wheelchair lift
- Provide hands-on support with wheelchairs, walkers, and personal belongings
- Ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and ready for daily use
- Complete transportation logs and promptly report any issues
- Deliver courteous, respectful, and professional service at all times
Required Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License and Chauffeur’s License
- Experience operating a wheelchair lift and transporting passengers with mobility challenges
- Minimum 2 years of relevant driving experience (senior living, healthcare, or passenger transport)
- Strong safety record and attention to detail
- Reliable, patient, and professional demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving a shuttle bus or passenger van
- Background in senior living, healthcare, or assisted transportation services
- Familiarity with mobility assistance equipment and best practices
