Demand Planner | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $65,000 - $98,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for assigned product categories using statistical models and market intelligence.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management to gather critical market insights and refine forecasts.
• Monitor forecast accuracy, identify root causes of significant variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Actively participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align demand plans with supply capabilities.
• Analyze historical sales data, promotional impacts, and external market trends to improve forecast reliability.
• Manage demand planning for new product introductions and product discontinuations, minimizing obsolescence and stock-outs.
• Utilize demand planning software and ERP systems to manage forecast data and generate reports.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in demand planning or forecasting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with forecasting software (e.g., SAP APO, Kinaxis, JDA) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and statistical modeling abilities with a solid understanding of forecasting methodologies.
• Experience participating in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced planning systems (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Anaplan).
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data analysis and modeling.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
• Experience in S&OP process design or improvement initiatives.
