Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laser welding equipment and weld quality.
• Design and implement welding fixtures and tooling to ensure precise part positioning.
• Establish and maintain process parameters, documentation, and quality control standards for laser welds.
• Conduct root cause analysis for weld defects and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D and product design teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and safety checks on laser welding systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial laser welding processes (e.g., fiber, Nd:YAG, CO2) and equipment.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and weldability of diverse alloys (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, superalloys).
• Proven ability to develop, optimize, and qualify laser welding parameters and procedures for manufacturing applications.
• Experience with laser welding equipment setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and process control systems.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and utilizing metrology tools for weld inspection and quality control.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotic laser welding systems or automation integration.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software for fixture design and process simulation.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) or data analytics for manufacturing process optimization.
• Certifications in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
