Systems Engineering Intern
- Complete a 12-week project presentation at the end of internship.
- Model system engineering battery tools, currently in excel, into Simulink / Simscape / Stateflow models (Mathworks) for use on current projects.
- Update system engineering architecture and behavioral diagrams in Sparx Enterprise Architect in accordance with the requirements in Jama Connect.
- Connect and refine the system models in accordance with the architecture and requirements.
- Demonstrate a Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) proof-of-concept, using architectural-based models in MathWorks to verify requirements via “analysis” (Controls, Electrical, Thermal, and/or Mechanical).
- Report the progress of tasks on a regular basis.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
- Undergraduate/graduate student working towards a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other relevant degree.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week up to a maximum of 40 hours per week.
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA required to enter the program.
- Must be actively enrolled in school.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

- Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen.
- May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/below knee level or reach overhead.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about in industrial environments, and on uneven terrain.
- Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with occasional work in outdoor weather conditions, and in industrial environments.
- The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.
- May be required to recognize small numbers, letters, symbols, and colors.
