Senior Construction Manager
Job Description
Job Description
Senior Project Manager – K-12 Market
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee complex construction projects in the K-12 education market. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong project management background, sharp organizational skills, and the ability to drive results with minimal supervision.
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing multiple concurrent school projects, often under the tight timeframes of summer construction schedules, where precision planning and execution are critical. Your ability to coordinate teams, maintain schedule discipline, and deliver high-quality results within compressed windows will be key to your success.
If you're ready to make a real impact in education construction and lead meaningful projects that serve local communities, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Define and maintain detailed project scopes, schedules, work breakdown structures, and planning assumptions. Proactively manage scope, budget, and schedule adjustments to keep projects on track.
- Resource Management: Collaborate with superintendents and the management team to allocate personnel and materials effectively, ensuring optimal resource utilization to meet project goals.
- Priority Setting: Establish and continuously adjust project priorities, reallocating resources as needed to meet critical deadlines and milestones.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Clearly define roles and responsibilities for all stakeholders and ensure alignment and accountability across project teams.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key project performance metrics, identifying variances early and implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget targets.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project teams and functional leads to align resources with deliverables and maintain cohesive execution.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve project performance issues promptly, removing barriers to maintain momentum and ensure on-time delivery.
- Execution Strategy: Develop and oversee comprehensive project execution plans—including risk management, communication strategies, change control, and quality assurance.
- Project Reviews: Conduct regular project assessments and provide timely, accurate updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Communication: Maintain consistent and transparent communication with clients, team members, and leadership to ensure alignment, manage expectations, and drive progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution (preferred).
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and process development skills, with a track record of implementing effective procedures and workflows.
- Solid understanding of construction and engineering operations, with the flexibility to adapt to evolving tools and methodologies.
- Proficiency in data automation tools, project management software, and standard business applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, and other data management programs).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and interact effectively at all organizational levels.
