Job Title: Welder/Fabricator

Shift: 1st Shift

Pay: Up to $28/hr.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. In this role you will fabricate, weld and assemble custom conveyor and material-handling systems, working from prints and specifications to build high-quality equipment.

Essential Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and fabrication instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements.
• Perform MIG, TIG and stick welding on steel, stainless and aluminum components.
• Fabricate parts including cutting, grinding, bending and assembling metal structural components, frames, supports, and conveyor assemblies.
• Operate fabrication equipment: saws, press brakes, rollers, grinders, and drill presses.
• Fit, align and assemble welded components to meet tolerances and fabrication quality standards.
• Inspect welds and fabricated parts for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity; perform re-work when necessary.
• Maintain fabrication and welding station clean, organize tools and materials, and follow safety procedures including PPE, lock-out/tag-out, and proper ventilation.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to suggest fabrication improvements, assist with installation support or modifications as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven welding/fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG and stick welding on steel and aluminum.
• Ability to read technical drawings/blueprints and take accurate measurements.
• Skilled at using fabrication tools and machines (shears, brake press, grinders, saws).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to welding/fabrication quality.
• Ability to lift, position and secure heavy metal components; comfortable working on a fabrication floor.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
