Market Scheduler
Job Description
Job Description
At Wolverine Power Cooperative, we help keep the lights on by delivering reliable, affordable energy to communities across Michigan. As a mission-driven, member-owned cooperative, we take pride in operating with precision, innovation, and care for the people we serve. Behind that mission is a commitment to excellence in how we manage and support energy markets - and that's where you come in.
We're seeking a Market Scheduler to join our Merchant Operations team. The Market Scheduler is responsible for the daily coordination and scheduling of Wolverine's energy portfolio and generation assets by selecting the most economical mix of power and/or generation. In this role, you'll play a vital part in supporting reliability while optimizing efficiency across our operations.
A Day in the Life
As a Market Scheduler, your day blends routine and critical decision-making. You'll manage schedules, forecasts, and data submissions while stepping in when urgent situations arise. Every task - big or small - plays a role in keeping Wolverine's power reliable, efficient, and ready for the communities we serve.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a skilled, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have the technical knowledge and judgment to support energy scheduling and market operations, strong communication skills to collaborate across teams, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Familiarity with NERC and Reliability First standards, proficiency with relevant software and systems, and a commitment to accuracy, reliability, and teamwork are essential-along with the flexibility to work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays.
What We Offer
At Wolverine, you'll find more than just a job - you'll find a career with purpose, stability, and growth. Here's what you can expect:
- A welcoming, team-oriented culture of 180 dedicated employees who are passionate about making a difference in the work they do and the communities they serve.
- A competitive salary with merit-based performance reviews to recognize your contributions.
- Outstanding benefits, including generous paid time off, tuition reimbursement, zero-cost insurance coverage, a 401(k) with company match, pension plan, wellness programs, and more.
At Wolverine, your work matters - to the team, to the cooperative, and to the communities we power every day. If you're ready to make an impact and grow your career in the energy industry, we invite you to apply today.
Studies show that individuals from underrepresented groups, including women and people of color, often hesitate to apply for jobs unless they meet every qualification. At Wolverine, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. If you're passionate about this role but don't meet every qualification, we still encourage you to apply. Your unique experiences and perspectives are what help us grow stronger as a team.
Wolverine actively seeks a diverse workforce and ensures that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, marital status, pregnancy status, genetic disposition, or any other legally protected status.
