Direct Care Worker / Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Weekdays + Weekends (2 Openings)

Overview
The Imagine Center Farm is a nonprofit, farm-based program supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through meaningful activities that build independence, confidence, and community connection.

We are hiring 2 Direct Care Workers / Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are dependable, compassionate, and comfortable working a combined weekday + weekend schedule .

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with developmental disabilities in a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment
• Assist with daily living skills, communication, social engagement, and independence-building activities
• Support structured programming that may include outdoor/farm-based activities as appropriate
• Provide personal care and mobility assistance as needed
• Maintain safety, follow support plans/policies, and use calm de-escalation when needed
• Complete shift documentation (notes, incidents, progress updates) and communicate clearly with the team

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to ~30 lbs and stay active during the shift (standing/walking; outdoors at times)
• Ability to pass required background checks and complete required training

Preferred

• Experience as a DSP, Direct Care Worker, Caregiver, Residential Aide, or similar human services role
• Experience supporting individuals with IDD/autism/developmental disabilities

Work Location

• In person: 6600 Norvell Rd, Brooklyn, MI 49230

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Weekends as needed
• Monday to Friday

Shift availability:

• Mon–Fri: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sat–Sun: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sat–Sun: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Note: We are hiring 2 people to cover a total of 9 shifts (mix of weekday and weekend coverage). Final schedules will be assigned based on availability and operational needs.
