Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
The Assistant Director of Nursing supports the clinical operations of the Assisted Living department, ensuring that residents receive the highest quality of care. This leadership role is key to fostering a culture of excellence, compliance, and strong team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support nursing staff, including LPNs, Care Aides, and Med Techs, ensuring compliance with care standards and best practices.
- Promote exceptional resident and family satisfaction through proactive communication and service.
- Coordinate and manage resident admissions, transfers, and re-admissions.
- Monitor compliance with state (DOH and MI) regulations and internal policies.
- Conduct daily rounds to assess care delivery and follow up on outstanding clinical concerns.
- Maintain accurate resident documentation and complete quarterly med cart audits.
- Create and update individualized care plans in collaboration with residents and families.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident concerns and complaints.
- Serve as a key liaison between nursing staff and senior leadership.
- Lead new staff orientation and provide ongoing education through monthly in-service training.
- Participate in department meetings, care conferences, and other quality initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Current LPN or RN license in the state of Michigan.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in assisted living or long-term care.
- Previous leadership or nursing management experience required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a resident- and team-focused mindset.
- Ability to foster a supportive, collaborative, and high-performance work culture.
