Senior Network Engineer
- Design, deploy, and manage LAN / WAN, wireless, and OT / IT network infrastructure across multiple sites and facilities.
- Lead network infrastructure upgrades including switching, routing, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Configure and maintain enterprise-grade network hardware including Ubiquiti UniFi, Cisco, and other platforms.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Manage network segmentation, VLANs, and security policies to ensure OT / IT separation and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with IT, Operations, and Security teams to align network capabilities with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assess and recommend new technologies, tools, and vendors to improve performance and cost efficiency.
- Provide escalation support and mentorship to junior network and IT staff.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with ISPs and technology partners for circuit provisioning and support.
- Ensure network infrastructure meets cybersecurity best practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering or a related infrastructure role is required, ideally within the automotive, manufacturing, or telecommunications industries.
- Proven hands-on experience with switching, routing, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with OT / IT network convergence is preferred.
- Familiarity with SCADA / ICS network security standards (IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82) is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of network protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, STP, VLANs, QoS, and VPN.
- Hands-on experience with Ubiquiti UniFi product ecosystem.
- Familiarity with industrial networking protocols, such as OPC UA, MQTT, and Modbus TCP.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.).
- Knowledge of SD-WAN solutions and cloud networking platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Solid understanding of network security principles, segmentation, and zero-trust architecture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to create and maintain detailed network documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
- Active certifications, such as CCNP, CCIE, or CompTIA Network+, are preferred.
- Must have the ability to travel (up to 20%).
- Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
