Key Job Details – Kalamazoo Nursing Jobs

• Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan (49007)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Medical/Surgical Unit (20-6440 AMU)
• Assignment Length: 13-week contract (September 22, 2025 – December 22, 2025)
• Nursing Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts/week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1840–$1890
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Friday & Saturday)
• Float Requirement: As needed to similar Med/Surg departments
• Orientation: 24 hours (includes 8 hours of self-reported modules)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (MS/Tele experience required)
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• Epic EMR charting experience
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions considered)
• Experience managing a patient ratio of 1:6
• Proficient in IV management, wound care, blood product administration, and central line management
• Professional references required

Med/Surg Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as pneumonia, heart failure, GI bleed, DKA, AMS, and sepsis
• Manage a patient load of up to 6 patients per shift
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Participate in orientation and complete required training modules
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
