Logistics Management Manager Full Time Days

Children's Hospital of Michigan is an international leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine. Surgical services include general, thoracic, reconstructive and cardiovascular. Imaging technology designed specifically for children provides advanced diagnostic services including Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and MRI. The Children's Hospital of Michigan Emergency Department is a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and dedicated pediatric burn center. Experts in pediatric critical care, rehabilitation, and neonatal and perinatal medicine provide care for thousands of children every year at Children's Hospital of Michigan, Children's Hospital of Michigan - Troy and six ambulatory sites.
Summary :
Under general direction, manages the operational, financial and personnel activities for the Logistics Management function. Responsibility includes planning, development, management, coordination, and maintenance of operational/functional activities within Logistics Management, Mailroom and Laboratory warehouse.
Identifies opportunities for productivity and quality improvement. Provides support and expertise to resolve operational problems. Develops monitors and revises functional process to ensure patient care needs are met in day to day operation. Identifies the need for policy development and/or revision, defines policies in collaboration with higher level management input, goals and objectives. Approves procedures /protocols and/or seeks other departmental approvals as appropriate.
Provides input into the development and revision or organizational structure for Logistics Management. Develops current to intermediate goals and measures for the function, or processes. Measures and assesses performance. As requested, assists in long range goal development. Assists in development of and monitors budget . Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their supplies. Participates in various system value analysis committees to provide support recommendations for product conversion and implementation strategies. Ensures the timely completion of performance appraisals.
Approves personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc. Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations. Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.
Qualifications:- Associate's degree in General Business and/or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Three to five years experience in materials, supervision, inventory control and data systems.
