The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and qualify packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Conduct packaging material selection, testing, and validation to ensure product protection and regulatory compliance.
• Optimize packaging designs for cost reduction, manufacturing efficiency, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate packaging into product development and production processes.
• Manage packaging supplier relationships, including specification development and quality assurance.
• Troubleshoot packaging-related issues on the production line and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all packaging meets relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in packaging development or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with packaging design software (e.g., ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks) and knowledge of various packaging materials and machinery.
• Familiarity with packaging testing standards (ISTA, ASTM) and relevant industry regulations (e.g., GMP, FDA).
• Proven ability to manage packaging projects from concept to launch, including cost analysis and vendor collaboration.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with sustainable packaging design principles and materials.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for packaging design.
• Demonstrated experience in packaging cost reduction initiatives or value engineering projects.
