We are seeking a dedicated Carpenter Project Manager to oversee and execute commercial construction projects, from inception to completion. The role predominantly involves managing projects in diverse environments such as restaurants, offices, assisted living facilities, and higher education institutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling 3-7 projects simultaneously, with 75-85% of the work conducted in the office and 15-25% spent visiting job sites to monitor progress and report back to customers and internal teams. The working hours are from 7 AM to 5/6 PM, with only the rare requirement to work on Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Secure new work and pursue new customers and projects
• Review and finalize contracts
• Process subcontractor contracts or purchase orders
• Monitor job progress against budget and schedule
• Conduct field kick-offs with field staff and general foremen
• Attend job meetings when required
• Price bulletins
• Resolve job issues
• Secure vendor pricing
• Approve and code vendor invoices
• Approve amounts complete for billings to customers
• Process additional work authorizations
• Perform material takeoffs
• Update job cost budgets

• Metal stud carpentry project management experience
• 5 years of experience in metal carpentry
• Project management experience in an office setting
• Familiarity with metal studs, subcontractors, and millwork
• Proficiency with edge routers and viewpoints
• Knowledge in Cold Formed Metal Framing (CFMF), commercial carpentry, general trades, and drywall

• Blueprint reading
• OSHA 10 certification
• Scissor Lift Certification
• Experience in K-12 projects
• Previous project management experience at a millwork shop
• Degree in Construction Management
• Experience with Edge (Estimating) and Viewpoint

The team is divided into two departments: Carpentry and Millwork, consisting of 3 Project Engineers, 2 Millwork Project Managers, 1 Director of Operations, 1 Project Estimator, and 14 people in the office, including admin and CAD Designers. There are approximately 40+ carpenters, including 30 finished and 6 millwork carpenters. The position requires 70% office work and 30% on-site presence. The dress code in the office includes khakis, polos, and quarter zips, while on-site requires steel-toe boots and a hardhat. The office is modern and up-to-date, featuring brand new technology, a spacious lobby with a display of the company's work, and a view of the millwork shop through glass doors. It includes a kitchen with granite counter space, couches, and conference rooms.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CHESTERFIELD, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $62.50/hr.
