JOB SUMMARY
The Post-Harvest Manager is responsible for overseeing all post-harvest production operations, including drying, curing, trimming, batching, bulk packaging, and inventory management. This role ensures operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, product quality, and team performance within the post-harvest department.
The Post-Harvest Manager drives process improvements, maintains strict adherence to SOPs and state regulations, and ensures a safe, organized, and compliant production environment. This position partners cross-functionally with Sales, Cultivation, Distribution, and Compliance teams to support production planning and product fulfillment objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversee day-to-day post-harvest production operations.
- Manage all harvest and post-harvest activities including trimming, curing, inventory control, batching, and warehouse coordination.
- Supervise, schedule, and assign daily tasks to post-harvest staff to ensure productivity and efficiency.
- Track and reconcile weights, waste, and yield metrics to maintain inventory accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with Sales to understand product form factors and production priorities.
- Maintain compliance with all state regulations, internal SOPs, work instructions, and change control processes.
- Assist in drafting, updating, and implementing SOPs related to post-harvest, quality, training, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of production activities.
- Oversee trim room breakdown, sanitation procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Enforce company Safety, Health, and Environmental policies within the department.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant post-harvest facility.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop data tracking and reporting processes across cultivation, post-harvest and cure rooms.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in cross-functional planning meetings and operational strategy discussions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
- Support workforce planning and staffing recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with company handbook policies including confidentiality and workplace conduct standards.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of strong leadership experience.
- Experience managing operations, including scheduling and staff supervision.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be and remain compliant with all state and company regulatory requirements for working in the cannabis industry.
- Ability to obtain and retain a Registered Agent Card issued by the state of operation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and internalize training consistently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of leadership experience.
- Experience in multi-state operator (MSO) environments.
- Familiarity with seed-to-sale tracking systems (e.g., METRC or equivalent).
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with experience tracking KPIs and production metrics.
