Business Development Representative

The Business Development Representative will play a key role in expanding Mentavi Health’s partnerships by identifying, analyzing, engaging, and educating prospective clients. This is an extended sales cycle role that requires building trust, transparently sharing information, and working collaboratively with potential partners to identify the best way to work together.

 

Beyond initial outreach, this role also includes Account Development —helping newly onboarded clients succeed and supporting long-term growth through ongoing engagement and results-driven expansion .

 

This position is hybrid , with some in-office time in West Michigan each week . Business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Identifying & Engaging Prospective Clients

    • Research and analyze organizations that could benefit from Mentavi Health’s services.

    • Conduct outreach to key decision-makers in health organizations, therapy practices, employers, universities, and primary care physician practices.

    • Build positive, ethical relationships based on trust and transparency.


  • Sales & Partner Development

    • Educate potential clients about Mentavi Health’s value, services, and evidence-based approach.

    • Navigate an extended sales cycle, helping organizations find the best way to integrate Mentavi Health into their services.

    • Present customized partnership solutions that align with client needs.

    • Work closely with internal teams (business development, marketing, and clinical teams) to develop and refine outreach strategies.


  • Account Development & Growth

    • Maintain and strengthen relationships with clients after onboarding, ensuring successful adoption of Mentavi Health’s services.

    • Identify opportunities for expansion and further collaboration based on client needs and results.

    • Act as a trusted partner and advisor, supporting long-term success.


  • Travel as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 


  • Experience in sales, business development, or account management in behavioral health, healthcare, or wellness—with a track record of success in extended sales cycles.

  • A relationship-builder who thrives in consultative sales, rather than quick transactions.

  • Excellent presentation skills—comfortable engaging and educating decision-makers.

  • Strong listening and discernment skills—able to understand client needs and tailor solutions accordingly.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to track multiple relationships and business development efforts.

  • A patient-first mindset, ensuring that all partnerships align with Mentavi Health’s commitment to ethical, high-quality care.

Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field

  • 3-5 years of business development experience in a complex sales cycle environment or comparable experience. Exposure to Healthcare and/or tech markets preferable

  • Experience and passion to sell and help business customers

  • Experience with customer relationship management systems (CRM), Hubspot preferred

  • Proficient with Google Suite (Google Drive, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets)
