Promess Inc., an industry leader in assembly and testing products in manufacturing, is looking for a Territory Sales Representative to cover established and new customers within a sales region. Promess provides advanced technology to manufacturers looking to improve the quality and consistency of the products they produce, while lowering the costs and risks associated with acquiring capital equipment. This full-time position is based out of the Detroit headquarters and requires travel in the defined sales territory.
An ideal candidate would possess the drive and ability to be a top-performing salesperson, achieving and exceeding goals established for the territory. Along with sales proficiencies, a mechanical and/or electrical background is beneficial, or a good working knowledge of assembly and automation and controls technology in manufacturing. This role is salary and commission based.
Responsibilities include:
- Meets and exceeds sales goals and contributes to quarter-over-quarter growth.
- Develop and present an annual sales plan to strategize and execute short-term and long-term goals to achieve aggressive growth targets.
- Effectively utilize CRM tools and update them daily.
- Strong account management and growth of key accounts.
- Consistent prospecting for new accounts and new business.
- Traveling to customers in the region to discover new business opportunities.
- Creating opportunities through the sales process and advancing through the pipeline to convert to a successful result.
- Collaborating and advising with a client's engineering teams on process and component selection, customization, and optimization for manufacturing applications.
- Working with internal product managers and applications engineers from the initial opportunity through the design process and ultimately into production and implementation.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Successful experience in sales preferred.
- Knowledge in manufacturing, electrical or mechanical fields is beneficial.
- Understanding of the sales processes and functions.
- Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computers and the MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including presenting, and the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas in ways that simplify and engage.
- Demonstrated experience creating and managing effective partnership relationships.
- Attention to detail, with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking/problem solving skills.
- Strong work ethic and capability to work remotely.
- Travel between 25-50% of the time.
