Salary Range: $52,000 - $79,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed dimensional inspections of first article parts against engineering specifications.
• Verify compliance of parts to blueprints, CAD models, and industry standards using precision measuring equipment.
• Utilize a variety of inspection tools, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators.
• Accurately document all inspection results in First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and associated logs.
• Identify and report non-conformances, initiating corrective action procedures when necessary.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve discrepancies and improve manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Demonstrated expertise in using a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators).
• Strong working knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and AS9102 reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
• Proven ability to accurately document inspection results and identify non-conformances.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD software for model-based definition (MBD) review
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
• Advanced GD&T certification (e.g., ASME Y14.5)
