Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary data for estimates.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes for raw materials, components, and outsourced services.
• Prepare detailed and competitive cost proposals and bids for clients.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities that could impact project costs or profitability.
• Maintain and update a comprehensive database of historical cost data and pricing trends.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience (3-5+ years) in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
• In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and their associated costs.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, dedicated estimating software, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate material, labor, and overhead cost calculations.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with specialized estimating software (e.g., Sage, AccuBuild) or manufacturing ERP systems.
• Experience utilizing CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for design review and material take-offs.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or process improvement methodologies.
• Background in supply chain management or procurement, including supplier negotiation.
