Journeyman Electrician

Location: Dowagiac, MI

Shift: 1st shift, 6am-3pm M-F

Pay: $33 - $38/hour based on experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, following the electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and a voltage tester.
• Connects power supply wire to machines and equipment.
• Connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints using hand tools and test equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as computers, transformers, motors and lighting fixtures, using test equipment and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables using hand tools.
• Tests malfunction machinery using test equipment and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose the malfunction.
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machines, such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices using hand tools.
• Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards using electronic test equipment and hand tools.
• Replace electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
• Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus in buildings.
• Diagnoses and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Trained in Arc Flash and all safety requirements.
• Does preventive maintenance and complete forms.
• Works with engineering on new builds and upgrades.
• PLC knowledge for diagnostics of equipment needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• State Issued Journeyman card plus 5 years’ active work in manufacturing field.
• Master’s License a plus
• Must be able to build start to finish PLC programs and lead a team in the process.
• Must have Poke Yoke experience.
• Must be able to run conduit, run wires, and size motors
• Must have robotic experience
• Must have AB Power Flex drive and Allen Bradly experience
