Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the uping school year starting August 25th at a K-12 school in Utica, MI. This contract role focuses on supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioral challenges within a moderate cognitive impairment (CI) classroom. The caseload includes 12 students in grades 4 through 7, requiring specialized instruction and tailored behavior management strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) designed to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Utilizing evidence-based teaching methods tailored to students with ASD and behavioral issues.
• Collaborating with other educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure prehensive support for students.
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional techniques to optimize learning outes.
• Maintaining accurate records and municating regularly with parents and school administration.

Qualifications:

• Michigan Special Education teaching certification is required.
• Experience working with students diagnosed with ASD and behavioral needs preferred.
• Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills.
• Ability to create a supportive and structured learning environment for moderate CI students.
• Effective munication and collaboration skills.
