Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Specify, procure, install, and maintain laser welding equipment and associated tooling.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects and production issues.
• Establish and monitor quality control parameters, inspection methods, and test procedures for laser welded assemblies.
• Create and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, and training materials for laser welding operations.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and high-quality weld integrity.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for laser welding efficiency, cost reduction, and yield.

Recommended Qualifications

• Deep expertise in laser welding processes, equipment, and parameter development for various materials.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and their impact on laser weld quality and integrity.
• Proven experience in process development, optimization, and troubleshooting for high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing laser welding fixtures and integrating systems into automated production lines.
• Knowledge of weld quality inspection techniques (e.g., NDT, destructive testing) and relevant industry standards (e.g., AWS, ISO).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotics programming (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA) for automated laser welding cells.
• Proficiency with advanced metrology and non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques for weld inspection.
• Advanced knowledge of metallurgy and materials science related to weldability and post-weld properties.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools for process optimization.
