Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our dermatology team, specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the Mohs surgeon during skin cancer treatments, ensuring the highest level of patient care and clinical excellence throughout the surgical process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for Mohs procedures by reviewing medical history, obtaining vital signs, and clearly explaining the surgical process.
• Support the Mohs surgeon during procedures by anticipating needs, managing surgical instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.
• Monitor patient condition before, during, and after surgery, reporting any concerns or complications promptly.
• Assist with specimen handling and ensure proper labeling and delivery to the pathology lab.
• Provide wound care, including dressing changes and patient education on post-operative care and recovery.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure by assisting with positioning and emotional support.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including surgical notes, vital signs, and follow-up instructions.
• Manage surgical suite cleanliness, inventory, and preparedness to support a seamless workflow.
• Educate patients on skin cancer prevention, wound healing, and sun safety.
• Coordinate post-operative appointments and assist with related administrative tasks.
• Comply with all infection control standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of practice is required.
• Prior experience in dermatology, surgical nursing, or outpatient procedural settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of dermatologic terminology and aseptic technique.
• Excellent communication skills with a patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Highly organized and attentive to detail.
• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, lift, and assist with patient care and surgical prep.
• Comfortable working in a procedure-focused environment with frequent exposure to bodily fluids.
