Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational institution in Portage, MI is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a contract position, primarily focused on providing 1:1 interpretation services to students who rely on sign language for communication.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license and all state-required certifications
• Experience working with K-12 students in an educational setting preferred
• Ability to provide clear and effective interpretation on a one-on-one basis
• Strong understanding of deaf culture and communication needs
• Available for a full school year contract

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality interpretation services during instructional time and school activities
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff
• Support the student's academic and social engagement through effective language access
• Collaborate with educational teams to ensure accommodation and accessibility
• Attend training and meetings as required

Location:Portage, Michigan
