Job Description

As a Security Officer Reception Desk in Detroit, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional in an educational setting, you will welcome students, staff, and visitors while supporting access control and maintaining awareness of security-related activity. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and help create a welcoming environment. Pay Rate: $18.40 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures and responding to questions in a professional manner.
• Monitor access at the front desk, verify credentials as required, maintain visitor records, and direct guests to appropriate campus locations.
• Observe and report unusual activity, access concerns, and facility-related issues to appropriate personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, complete required reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
