Our Client, a Public Utility that provides natural gas and electricity to the majority of Michigan's 10 million residents, is seeking a talented and self-driven individual for needs serving in the role of Work Scheduler for a 6 Month + Contract opportunity.

This position is within the Electrical and Underground Scheduling department and provides direct support for the Electric Underground Distribution Department.

This is a hybrid role and requires reporting onsite 3 or 4 days a week in Lansing or Jackson, MI.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish and execute a daily plan for the work; may include organizing and dispatching assignments, facilitating meetings, short-range forecasting, etc
• Communicate effectively inline with supported business unit processes/procedures ; may include interacting with supervision, field operations, or other operational supporting groups
• Utilize various systems to monitor work, create/submit orders and requests, observe data and make scheduling adjustments as necessary. Some roles may require a deeper dive into data review to make appropriate modifications
• Support emergent matters inline with the business units processes/procedures ; may include escalations, volume monitoring, etc.
• Perform business unit specific tasks as needed; may include various reporting and taking appropriate action, identifying training opportunities, creating standards, etc.
• Foster relationships with operations leaders and line works.
• Build a reliable and efficient schedule.
• Line up work with any 3rd party contractors and additional resource as needed per the job
• Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work effectively in urgent situations
• 2 or more years of customer service experience as a resource and work scheduler
• SAP experience is required
• Strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Associates degree or higher
• Professional demeanor
• Proactive in addressing things that may arise in the day to day of the job
• Attention to detail
