Salary Range: $76,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding procedures and specifications for various materials and applications.
• Oversee and troubleshoot welding processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met.
• Select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and techniques based on project requirements.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Train and mentor welding personnel on proper techniques, safety protocols, and quality control.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of components.
• Stay abreast of new welding technologies, materials, and industry best practices.
• Manage welding-related documentation, including welding procedures, qualifications, and inspection reports.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in developing, implementing, and optimizing welding processes for various manufacturing applications.
• Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, destructive and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and quality control standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).
• Proficiency in welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder performance qualifications (WPQ).
• Experience with different welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Submerged Arc, Laser, Electron Beam).
• Knowledge of materials science, including the properties and behavior of various metals under welding conditions.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with automated welding processes (e.g., robotic welding, laser welding, electron beam welding)
• - Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods (e.g., UT, RT, MT, PT)
• - Knowledge of advanced materials and their welding characteristics (e.g., superalloys, titanium, composites)
• - Familiarity with welding simulation software and finite element analysis (FEA) for weldment design and performance prediction
• - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
