About this Role:
Do you enjoy seeing a project come to life from concept to completion? Are you passionate about craftsmanship, problem-solving, and creating exceptional custom cabinetry? We're looking for a Millwork Engineer/CNC Programmer who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a team that builds high-end custom cabinetry, millwork, and built-ins for residential projects.
This is more than a drafting position. You'll play a key role in transforming design concepts into detailed shop drawings, production-ready plans, and finished products that homeowners will enjoy for years to come. You'll work closely with designers, production staff, and installers while utilizing industry-leading software and technology to bring unique projects to life.
What You'll Do
- Create detailed shop drawings, engineering documents, and CNC-ready programs using AutoCAD and Microvellum.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and production staff to develop custom cabinetry and millwork solutions.
- Translate architectural plans and design concepts into accurate build documents.
- Produce revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
- Support production teams with technical information and problem-solving.
- Conduct field measurements and site visits.
- Participate in framing walkthroughs.
- Measure and order trim materials.
- Assist with installation coordination and support.
- Perform quality control inspections on both designs and completed projects.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience creating cabinetry or millwork shop drawings and construction documents.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microvellum, or similar cabinet engineering software.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and design documents.
- Understanding of cabinetry construction methods, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with AWI standards.
- Knowledge of CNC, nested-based manufacturing, and panel processing equipment.
- General construction experience is a plus.
- Experience applying lean manufacturing principles and process improvement strategies.
In addition to working within our strong employee focused culture, you will get:
- Competitive compensation
- Company profit sharing
- Medical insurance
- Dental Insurance
- Vision Insurance
- Employee assistance program
- 401k with a company match
- Enjoy Employee events throughout the year (picnics, sledding, holiday dinner, etc.)
- Paid time off
- 7 Paid Holidays
If you like a company that's big enough to provide stability yet small enough where you can have autonomy within your work and move fast, Engelsma Homes is the place for you. Apply today!
