Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Job Description

The Journeyman Electrician will construct and service Residential, Multi-Family, and Commercial projects. This role involves performing Low to Medium Voltage changeouts and installations, and working with Single to Three Phase Electrical systems. The position requires driving to the office to collect a van, tools, and materials for daily jobs from scheduling. The candidate will also be responsible for communicating with customers on project or service details.

Responsibilities

• Construct and service Residential, Multi-Family, and Commercial projects.
• Perform Low to Medium Voltage changeouts and installations.
• Work with Single to Three Phase Electrical systems.
• Collect van, tools, and materials for daily jobs from the office.
• Communicate with customers regarding projects or services.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues.
• Perform upgrades or additions, including adding circuits and grounding circuits.
• Work with 120v to 480v systems and have a basic knowledge of conduit bending from 1/4 to 1 inch.
• Handle PVC and underground electrical tasks.
• Be comfortable with being on-call 3-5 times a year for emergency calls.

• Journeyman Electrician certification with the State of Michigan.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Understanding of Residential Code.
• Experience with upgrades or additions.
• Basic knowledge of conduit bending from 1/4 to 1 inch.

• OSHA 10 certification.
• 4+ years of experience.
• Open to high-level apprentices or solar electricians.
• Technologically proficient with cell phones, iPads, and construction software.
• Clean driving record.

Work Environment

Work on Residential, Multi-Family, and Commercial new construction projects, either independently or in groups, depending on project size. The role involves both indoor and outdoor environments, with opportunities to train apprentices. Standard shift is from 7:30 am to 5 pm, with potential night shifts and overtime of 40-50 hours a week. PPE provided includes vest, hard hat, ear protection, glasses, and gloves, while candidates need to provide their own boots.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $48.00/hr.
