Salary Range: $61,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other technical documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather comprehensive data for estimates.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
• Prepare and submit detailed, competitive cost proposals and bids to customers.
• Identify potential risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures during the estimating process.
• Maintain and update a database of cost information, supplier pricing, and historical data.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and associated labor/overhead costs.
• Advanced proficiency with estimating software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for detailed cost analysis.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with specialized estimating software (e.g., Costimator, Sage Estimating) or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor).
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for advanced blueprint interpretation and material take-offs.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Value Engineering, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Background in supply chain management or strong vendor negotiation skills.
