Back‑End Software Development Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Back‑End Software Development Engineer for a Contract role with a client in Dearborn, MI . The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in backend development, strong cloud experience (GCP), hands‑on use of AI/LLMs for enhanced development productivity, and a deep understanding of TDD/BDD practices.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $65/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Back‑End Software Development Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand use‑cases, pain points, and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Design and develop backend services using Java/Spring Boot and Node.js/TypeScript .

• Contribute to frontend development using React , supporting end‑to‑end feature delivery.

• Utilize AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate development workflows, code generation, testing, and productivity.

• Build and integrate backend services with PostgreSQL and other data storage technologies.

• Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud‑native services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ensuring high availability, resilience, and performance.

• Apply TDD/BDD methodologies using tools such as Cucumber and Playwright for automated and behavioral testing.

• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions , Jenkins, or Tekton for frequent and stable releases.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience Required:

• 6+ years combined experience in backend development using:

  • Java/Spring Boot

  • Node.js / TypeScript

• Demonstrated experience using AI/LLMs to enhance development workflows.

• Working experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other major cloud providers.

• Strong experience with TDD and BDD (Cucumber, Playwright).

• Familiarity with React and frontend engineering fundamentals.

• Strong understanding of Agile software development, Clean Code, continuous integration, and small iterative releases.

• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Tekton).

Experience Preferred:

• 2+ years of experience with front‑end frameworks such as ReactJS , VueJS , or AngularJS .

• 2+ years of professional experience with TypeScript .

• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $65.00 per hour
