Duration: 13 weeks, with potential for permanent hire
Estimated Annual Salary Upon Conversion: Approximately $93,000

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Field Engineer to support enterprise networking environments by installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco-based network infrastructure. This role requires travel between client sites and hands-on experience with LAN/WAN technologies, routing protocols, network devices, and infrastructure support.

The ideal candidate has strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience with Cisco networking equipment, and a customer-focused approach to resolving complex networking issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and network devices.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity and network performance issues.
• Configure switch ports and perform network port activations.
• Upgrade and maintain switch firmware.
• Support routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Monitor enterprise network operations and respond to incidents.
• Perform break/fix support and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to identify and resolve network issues.
• Create and maintain network documentation using Visio.
• Follow networking security best practices and organizational standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service while supporting multiple client locations.

Required Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on networking experience.
• Experience installing and configuring Cisco networking equipment.
• Strong understanding of:

  • Firewalls
  • Cisco IOS
• Experience with routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Ability to analyze network issues and implement effective solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Reliable transportation for travel between client sites.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• CCNA certification or actively pursuing CCNA certification.
• Experience with ServiceNow.
• Experience supporting Avaya systems.
• Experience creating technical documentation using Microsoft Visio.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance is a plus.
