Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school-based social worker is sought for a maternal leave contract position in an elementary school setting in Muskegon, MI. This role focuses on providing critical social and emotional support to students, families, and school staff, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment during the regular school year.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting individual and group counseling sessions to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention plans and support student success.
• Connecting students and families with community resources, including mental health services and social programs.
• Assessing student needs and advocating for appropriate accommodations and services.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies and confidentiality standards.
• Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to address student concerns.

Qualifications and experience:

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure or certification as required by the state.
• Experience working in school settings or with children and families preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to manage caseloads and demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity.
