IATF Quality Engineer | Battle Creek, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) conforms to IATF 16949 requirements.
• Lead APQP and PPAP activities for new product launches and engineering changes.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective/preventive actions (8D) for quality non-conformances.
• Develop and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, and process flow diagrams.
• Perform internal process and product audits to verify compliance and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Manage customer quality complaints and ensure timely resolution and communication.
• Monitor and analyze key quality metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

• Deep expertise and practical application of IATF 16949 standards.
• Proficiency in core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D problem-solving.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Quality) with 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role.
• Proven experience in conducting internal and external quality system audits.
• Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified IATF 16949 Lead Auditor
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Proficiency with advanced statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
• Experience with QMS software platforms (e.g., ETQ Reliance, MasterControl)
