Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional inspections of first article parts against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Utilize and program various precision metrology equipment, including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Generate and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with industry standards (e.g., AS9102).
• Verify material certifications, special process certifications, and other documentation for compliance.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T to ensure accurate inspection.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances, working with relevant departments for resolution.
• Maintain calibration and operational readiness of inspection tools and equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated expertise in operating CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and a wide range of manual inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Thorough understanding of First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements (e.g., AS9102) and quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
• Proven ability to accurately document inspection results, generate FAI reports, and identify non-conformances.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess dimensional accuracy and process capability.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASME Y14.5 GD&T Professional Certification.
• Experience with advanced metrology software (e.g., PolyWorks, PC-DMIS scripting) or specialized inspection equipment (e.g., laser trackers, structured light scanners).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing quality setting.
• Prior experience developing, optimizing, or validating inspection processes and documentation.
