About the Role

We are seeking an experienced personal injury attorney (5+ years) to join our pre-litigation and intake team. This position is ideal for a skilled negotiator who thrives on strategy, values autonomy, and wants to directly shape client outcomes.

As a senior member of our pre-litigation team, you’ll:

· Lead demand preparation and settlement strategy
· Mentor intake and case staff to enforce standards and best practices
· Ensure cases move efficiently through treatment, records, and negotiation
· Play a direct role in converting strong cases from intake to representation

Your judgment and expertise will directly influence the velocity, value, and profitability of our cases, making this role a cornerstone of firm growth.

Key Responsibilities

· Case Strategy & Negotiation: Develop and execute pre-litigation strategies, prepare and submit persuasive demand packages, and negotiate directly with insurance adjusters.
· Intake & Conversion: Partner with the intake team to assess potential cases, ensure high-quality onboarding, and convert qualified leads into signed clients.
· File Readiness: Review medical records, accident reports, and supporting evidence; enforce standards for demand readiness.
· Client Communication: Maintain consistent, empathetic updates to build trust and satisfaction throughout the pre-lit phase.
· Mentorship & Leadership: Coach intake and pre-lit staff on best practices, monitor adherence to timelines, and provide feedback tied to performance standards.
· Collaboration: Partner with the litigation team when cases escalate, ensuring clean handoffs and readiness.

Qualifications

· Juris Doctor (JD) and active license with the State Bar of Michigan
· 5+ years of personal injury or negotiation-focused legal experience
· Proven record of successful settlement negotiation and pre-suit case management
· Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
· Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, standards-driven team
· Commitment to client service, accountability, and ethical advocacy

Compensation & Benefits

· Competitive Salary: $105,000 – $130,000, commensurate with experience
