3rd Shift - Stitcher/Folder Operator

Job Summary:

Complete the set-up, operation and maintenance of Bindery equipment including Stitchers and Folders while meeting quality and productions goals.

Essentials Duties:

• Coordinate pocket set-up of the Stitcher according to job specification
• Inspect books for quality throughout the stitching process
• Execute the complete process related to paperwork and forms
• Responsible for feeding pockets
• Assist with make readies (m/r) on all equipment
• Follows all safety procedures and protocol.
• Read and understand the job tickets, work orders, and all other documentation that pertains to each job.
• Interact with and direct the Stitcher crew to facilitate daily schedules.
• Understand and meets customer quality standards
• Ability to meet and/or exceed expected goals on make-readies, speeds, waste, and efficiency
• The ability to operate all necessary tools… wrenches, gauges, tape measures, etc.
• Assist with the routine maintenance of equipment
• Other duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be dependable, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling obligations.
• Must be able to effectively troubleshoot equipment
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must work well with others
• Must be flexible and open to change when needed
• Must have the ability to follow instructions
• Must be a proven self-starter to complete projects/work orders
• Must have the ability and willingness to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed
• The ability to occasionally work 12-hour shifts

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1-year bindery experience
• Basic small packaging knowledge
• Basic mechanical and mathematical aptitude

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing while setting up and operating equipment
• Periods of bending, twisting, kneeling and squatting
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
