Salary Range: $55,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis to 5-axis milling machines using CAM software.
• Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feed rates to achieve desired part specifications and optimize cycle times.
• Design and create workholding fixtures and setups for complex machining operations.
• Perform program simulations and verifications to detect and correct potential errors before machining.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot machining issues and improve manufacturing processes.
• Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Ensure all programs adhere to quality standards, safety protocols, and engineering specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360).
• Strong ability to write, read, and edit G-code and M-code programs.
• Expertise in interpreting engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• Demonstrated experience with CNC mill setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cutting tool selection, workholding, and fixture design principles.
• Understanding of various material properties and their impact on machining processes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience programming multi-axis (4 or 5-axis) CNC mills.
• Proficiency in manual G-code editing and optimization.
• Familiarity with CNC machine simulation software (e.g., Vericut).
• Strong understanding of cutting tool selection and workholding strategies.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
