NPI Engineer | Spring Lake, MI

Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transition of new products from design to full-scale manufacturing.
• Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for new products.
• Collaborate with R&D and Design teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Specify, procure, and qualify new manufacturing equipment and tooling.
• Conduct process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) and product qualification activities.
• Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, routings, and BOMs.
• Identify and resolve technical manufacturing issues during pilot runs and initial production ramp-up.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical).
• 3+ years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) or manufacturing engineering within a production environment.
• Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ).
• Proficiency in CAD software and strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the industry (e.g., machining, injection molding, assembly, electronics).
• Proven project management skills and experience with cross-functional team collaboration to drive product launches.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
• Proficiency with advanced statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
• Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., additive manufacturing, robotics, vision systems)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
