Clark Lake Montessori is affiliated with Countryside Montessori (Hillsdale, MI.). Both campuses are private preschools and offer daycare to enrolled students as well as a full Montessori educational experience. Students are 2 1/2 -6 years old.

Clark Lake Montessori is housed in a beautiful historic stone church at Clarklake. The robust renovations have transformed the building into a State-of-the-Art educational environment complete with glass walls and a spacious outdoor playground with mature trees.

You will be amazed at how independent the students are. All classes are mixed-ages (except for the full day GSRP program) and are introduced to practical living, sensorial, language, math, and cultural philosophies grounded in scientific research completed by Dr. Marie Montessori. Students are able to immerse in the curriculum confident and independent.

We know that you already love children, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this job posting. So, what sets us apart? We are not a traditional educational setting. You already know that children learn at different paces and excel in different subjects. The beauty of Montessori is that it allows children to excel at their own pace while teaching them foundational components of practical life, sensorial, culture, language and math. We have many students that by the time they head to kindergarten or first grade, they are reading chapter books and accurately completing addition in the thousands . It's quite remarkable actually.

Their success is attributed to great educators like yourself. You will not be asked to stand up in front of the class and teach everyone the same material. Montessori philosophy allows for presentations of materials to individual students and then that student is able to independently repeat the work. You really must see it in action. Qualifications:
Education:

● Associates (Bachelor's preferred) degree in Early Childhood Education
● CPR/First Aid Certified or ability to become certified

Experience:
● Familiar with Montessori philosophy but not required
● Preschool experience preferred

Skills:
● Excellent oral and written skills
● Ability to establish and maintain effective communication
● Ability to laugh and find joy in the little things

This position may require climbing a ladder, bending, stooping, sitting on floor, lifting <40#, shoveling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, squatting.
