.NET Web Applications Developer

Stardock is seeking a .NET Web Applications Developer to support the modernization and continued development of our internal software infrastructure and web services. This role will play a key part in upgrading legacy systems, improving service reliability, and building new functionality that directly supports the business operations of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modern .NET development and a desire to help lead the transition to modern tooling and practices. This is a salaried, full-time position located at our Plymouth, Michigan studio.


Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Upgrade and migrate existing web services and APIs from ASP.NET 4.x to .NET 7+ or higher.


• Review and refactor existing codebases to follow modern development practices (clean code principles, SOLID design, etc.).


• Develop, maintain, and extend highly-scalable ASP.NET Core Web APIs and backend services.


• Perform routine maintenance on websites and underlying infrastructure.


• Develop robust and secure user-friendly interfaces in a .NET-based environment.


• Document infrastructure, systems, and processes in Confluence.


• Outline and implement a pathway to achieve high availability (targeting five nines reliability) for critical systems such as activation servers.

Education and Experience Desired:

• 5+ years of experience developing with .NET technologies.


• Proficient understanding of object-oriented programming and modern development principles.


• Thorough knowledge of C#, ASP.NET Core Web API, .NET 6 and higher, and SQL.


• Familiarity with source control and project management tools (e.g., SVN, GitHub, Jira).


• Comfortable leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude) in development workflows.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience with Vue.js Framework.


• Experience with Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript.


• Experience with HTML5, CSS/SCSS.


• WPF experience is a bonus but not required.

The salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on your qualifications, experience, and expertise. Stardock is committed to offering a competitive compensation package tailored to the right candidate.
