The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Hart seeking Purchasing Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery for manufacturing operations.
• Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers while managing existing vendor relationships and performance.
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction and supply chain efficiency.
• Ensure all purchased materials and services meet specified quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Mitigate supply chain risks, including lead time variations, material shortages, and price fluctuations.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiation, and contract management.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement, inventory management, and planning.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a purchasing team.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
• Demonstrated experience with advanced ERP/MRP system functionalities (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Experience with international sourcing, logistics, and import/export compliance
• APICS CSCP or ISM CPSM certification
