Reports To: Building Administrator and FACTS Ed Solutions
Position Summary
The Title I Parent Support Specialist is a grant-funded position supported through Title I funds and serves as a critical liaison between the school, families, and the community to support student success. This role focuses on strengthening family engagement as required under Title I , ensuring parents—especially English- and Spanish-speaking families—are informed, supported, and actively involved in their child’s education.
The Parent Support Specialist empowers families by facilitating communication, providing resources, and supporting school–family collaboration in alignment with Title I family engagement requirements .
Key Responsibilities
Title I Family Engagement
- Implement and support a comprehensive Title I parent and family engagement program in compliance with federal requirements.
- Ensure families understand their rights and responsibilities under Title I , including opportunities for involvement in planning, implementation, and evaluation of Title I programs.
- Support equitable access to Title I information for families regardless of language proficiency.
Bilingual Communication (English/Spanish)
- Serve as the primary bilingual (English/Spanish) point of contact for families regarding Title I services, student progress, and engagement opportunities.
- Provide verbal and written communication in English and Spanish, including outreach, meeting facilitation, and informational materials.
- Facilitate bilingual parent meetings, workshops, and informational sessions focused on supporting student learning.
School–Family Collaboration
- Collaborate with school administration, teachers, and Title I staff to strengthen school–family partnerships.
- Support parent involvement in the development and review of the Title I Schoolwide/Targeted Assistance Plan , including family engagement components.
- Advocate for inclusive, culturally responsive practices that promote equity and student achievement.
Resource Coordination
- Connect families to school-based and community resources that support academic success.
- Assist families in understanding how Title I funds are used to support students and programs.
- Provide tools and strategies to help parents support learning at home.
Monitoring & Program Support
- Collect parent feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of Title I family engagement activities.
- Assist with documentation and reporting related to Title I parent involvement requirements.
Required Qualifications
Language Requirement
- Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) — REQUIRED
Education
- Associate’s degree or higher in Education, Social Work, or a related field preferred
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in family engagement, community outreach, or working with school-aged children and families
- Experience working in a Title I or federally funded program preferred
- Familiarity with federal education programs and compliance requirements preferred
