Electrical Engineer | Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $75,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex electrical failures in production machinery and infrastructure.
• Program, maintain, and integrate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and other automation components.
• Lead and execute electrical aspects of capital projects, including installation, commissioning, and validation.
• Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Optimize existing electrical systems and equipment for improved efficiency, reliability, and cost reduction.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial power distribution, motor control circuits, and VFDs.
• Demonstrated experience with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Familiarity with electrical safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E) and machine safety principles.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues in manufacturing equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with industrial automation platforms (e.g., Rockwell PLCs, Siemens TIA Portal, SCADA systems).
• Familiarity with industrial robotics and machine vision systems.
• Understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profinet) and cybersecurity best practices for operational technology (OT).
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience.
