Propulsion Supply Chain Coordinator
Description
The Role: As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for support in one of the key areas: manufacturing/warehouse operations, supply chain systems and processes, launch execution and scheduling and material management. You will act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide support. This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
Executes deliverables in support of the supply chain organization's business objectives. Guides of one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives.
Ability to understand and assess complex supply chain issues and lead teams in a cross functional environment to successfully resolve issues minimizing impacts to propulsion production
Develop and drive improvements regarding a positive Workplace of Choice Organization
Support Propulsion Plant GSC teams to meet and exceed KPI’s
Lead special projects as necessary
Manage case load across various teams within a Program
Assess supplier schedules and impact on propulsion plant production
Collaborate cross functionally to develop creative solutions
Ability to summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate to leadership
Analyze metrics supporting supplier critical issues or sufficiency plan resolution
Ability to be flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are working to resolve
Ability to travel to plant locations when required for on-site support to launch and build-out
Ability to tackle complete issues and implement new and innovative strategies
Deep understanding of Supply Chain functions
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience
2+ years relevant experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics, or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
High level of capability to work independently
Highly proficient oral and written communication skills
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Negotiation skills
Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time
Capable of interpreting contracts
Demonstrated global business skills
Ability to travel 5—10% travel Domestically + Internationally
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
3+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, manufacturing, logistics or product development.
Cost analysis, root cause analysis, or manufacturing/plant operations experience
Automotive industry experience
Knowledge of materials management
Leveraging AI to implement strategies that shift best practices from reactive to proactive
Experience with commodities
