Worship Director

Second Branch Baptist Church is seeking to hire a part-time Worship Director. Our church is looking for a Director who will prioritize the congregational voice. We sing songs both old and new. The church has approved $20,000 for this part-time position.

Worship Director

SUPERVISOR’S TITLE:

Lead Pastor

DEFINITION OF POSITION:

The Worship Director is responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive music ministry, assisting the Church to accomplish its mission.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Responsible for planning, organizing, and leading worship services.
Recruit, train and lead a worship team to fulfill the mission of the Church. (musicians and production)
Remain aware and available for counsel to arrange and provide music for special services, ministries, and other Church related activities in collaboration with the Music, Production, and other teams when appropriate.
Coordinate the schedules of music groups and individuals in the functions of the Church.
Supervise the Production Team and provide them with information needed to facilitate the worship service.
Supervise maintenance of and additions to the music library.
Supervise maintenance of all musical instruments and audio-visual systems to assure proper working conditions.
Develop an annual budget for approval and submit a written report for Business meetings.
Serve on the Music team.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Must possess proficient musical skills and knowledge.
Must have a good understanding of church administration, staff responsibilities and team functions.
Must possess good teaching skills with ability to inspire members.
Must have excellent organizational, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
A college degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of formal training and experience.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:

This is a salaried, part-time position based on an average of twenty (15-20) hours per week.
Benefits and compensation for this position are described in The Personnel Policy and shown in the annual budget approved by the Church.
